‘Top Chef: Boston’ episode 13: Who returned, and who was eliminated in Mexico?
We’re going to have a more detailed review of Wednesday night’s new “Top Chef” episode a little bit later in the week, but we figured that we would at least for now share some of the bare bones of it for those just looking for information.
Let’s start here with the returning chef from “Last Chance Kitchen”: Doug Adams. He managed to win his way back into the competition against George Pagonis, and this was not enough for him. He also managed to win the Elimination Challenge, as well. Doug clearly has the momentum right now, and this could lead him to utter domination at a very important time in the competition.
Momentum may be changing in many ways across the board. After struggling for most of the past few episodes, Gregory Gourdet started to get a little bit of his own momentum back tonight, finishing strongly in the Elimination Challenge, even if it was behind Doug. Mei Lin, meanwhile, was in danger of being sent home right after feeling like she had almost all of the power in the world.
In the end, though, we have officially lost Melissa Kang, who seemed to be cooking her best food right before making it to this point in the show. Ultimately, we feel like this is somewhat of an indictment on the idea that everything can change with just one competition. As a matter of fact, it often does. We don’t think that Melissa has anything to be sad about, though, coming so far in a season full of killer talent across the board.
