‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: An emotional time for Gibbs, Fornell
Earlier this year, “NCIS” probably delivered one of the biggest stunners of the past year or so, and that is the tragic death of Gibbs’ ex and Fornell’s current love Diane. There was just no way to project that this was coming! It was another dagger that was put into Mark Harmon’s character, who has already lost his father in the past year. This has just been a run of death in general as of late, given that we also lost McGee’s dad just at the end of last year.
So is the show going to touch on this story again very soon? We understand any potential concerns that there could be out there about them possibly ignoring this, and mostly because of the fact that we do not always see procedurals dwell on things for long.
However, showrunner Gary Glasberg promises to TVLine that the upcoming February 17 episode is going to feature some hard moments and discussions between Gibbs and Fornell, and Emily is also going to play a part in it:
“There are some really brilliant moments between Mark Harmon and Joe Spano, as they spend some time in Gibbs’ cabin and hash out some of the issues they’re both facing because of that loss … And Emily makes an appearance too — it’s all part of what Fornell is carrying right now. He’s having trouble, and Gibbs is there as a friend.”
Even with this story, we do hope that this is something that is continued to be addressed further as we get to the end of the season. We really don’t think that it can be touched on enough, or at least once every few episodes.

Without a doubt, next Tuesday’s episode will be another showcase for Gibbs-the compassionate- with a side of sweetly comical Jimmy. Then tptb don’t bother to send out spoilers about the following week’s episode “Cadence” since it is apparently to feature Tony’s past, but instead, plow straight through into promoting the next big Gibbs and Fornell drama. Could tptb possibly be any less interested in promoting Tony stories? I mean they almost never write them and when they do there is apparently no interest in promoting them. They’re simply skipped over so that the next big Gibbs episode can be over promoted instead. I’m so sick of over exposed Gibbs at this point. I used to love the character. Michael Weatherly and his fans are obviously simply no longer important to the Super Gibbs Show mentality of the current showrunner and executive producers. I really miss Tony being a character that the writers are allowed to care about, and I’m not alone. Sad.

It is pretty normal that they promote the next episode before Cadence because it wouldn’t make sense any other way. As a Tony and Michael fan you actually should see the development of Tony. Not to mention that Michael is very happy with the show and his character. Did you also complain so much when we had the Ziva show? I prefer Gibbs and everyone else over the always-the-same Ziva stoylines. Tony has gotten more storylines that McGee, Abby, Ducky, Ellie and so on. Gibbs is the main character of the show, said by Weatherly himself multiple times.

Yes, I complained quite a lot about the Ziva show. I was so happy when she left, naively thinking that they might restore Tony’s competence and importance once the writers didn’t have to write him as lame so that Ziva could reign superior. Instead, Tony has even less screen time and significance than before and the writers have replaced Ziva – second in command with McGee – second in command. It’s quite McDull.

God forbid they dare to promote the episode before Cadence. Whenever your name appears on any article that allows comments I know what you wrote before reading it. I don’t see you being a Tony fan. You don’t believe in him and even less in Weatherly. You complain about everything.

Cadence is the episode that will air BEFORE the big Gibbs/Fornell drama, so while it seems quite normal to promote next weeks, the issue I have is that they have then skipped Cadence and moved straight into promoting the next big Gibbs thing. It’s typical though. TPTB obviously only care about Harmon, his character, and his fans. I don’t care if you doubt my “fan” status. I’m sick and tired of my favorite character’s demotion while we get a constant diet of super/angsty Gibbs with absolutely any side kick except Tony. Since Gibbs is now central to every arc and drama involving the regular cast, if Tony is never with GIbbs, he doesn’t get to figure into any of the meaty stories which has been the case for several years now.

I’m really looking forward to this episode. 2 weeks without a new ep were hard. I hope as well that we’ll get to see or at least hear about Fornell and Emily dealing with the loss of their wife and mom. And since I really love the Gibbs/Fornell friendship, I hope we will get to see Gibbs being supportive of his friend who’s going through some hard times. I kind of missed any company for Gibbs after Jackson died and the same with Tim’s dad. I hope that we will somehow hear about those 2 as well since they were very important to the lifes of these characters.
I have some sort of hope there’ll be a conversation between Tony and Gibbs with Senior coming back. When it comes to McGee I would love to see either Ducky or Abby supporting him. We also have not heard about Delilah.
That’s for the sadder part of NCIS but given that Jimmy is going to be a Daddy, I hope we’ll see the whole Team being with Jimmy and Breena. This would be very emotional since they’re family.
