‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4, episode 4 video: Show boss on ‘Red Dye #40’ story

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen “Hart of Dixie” really teases us with a variety of different “will they or won’t they” questions, and while that has been very fun to watch at times, we also have to say that we’re glad that Zoe and Wade are now together. This means that we can seemingly close the door on many questions there for a little while, and instead put the focus elsewhere … such us on having a little bit of fun.

This seems to be the focus of Friday night’s “Red Dye #40,” at least based on what executive producer Leila Gerstein says in the video below. Basically, what happens in this episode is that Shelby is mysteriously given chocolate with the aforementioned dye in it, and she is allergic to it. From here, what happens is an investigation is started, which could end up somehow outing Zoe and Wade’s relationship to the general public.

So why are Rachel Bilson and Wilson Bethel’s characters keeping this a secret in the first place. As Gerstein notes, it is mostly in order to preserve something that they feel to be rather sacred for the time being. If they can keep people from meddling in their personal lives, we’re sure that they would prefer this. After all, BlueBell is a town that has become known for quite a bit of meddling over the years.
