‘The Celebrity Apprentice’: Kate Gosselin ‘genuinely surprised’ about firing

Monday night’s new episodes of “The Celebrity Apprentice” were supremely entertaining, but they also contained what was somewhat of a surprise to us: The firing of Kate Gosselin. While she was the losing Project Manager on her task, it felt more like it was due to Kenya Moore and Vivica A. Fox’s failure to get along more so than anything that she did in particular. While she didn’t nail the luxury part of the task, per Donald Trump, she also didn’t get all of the props that she was asking for.

Ultimately, this is why Kate told “The Today Show” Tuesday that she was “genuinely surprised” that she was fired, and that she probably did not put enough stock into being dramatic as a way to stick around the show longer. Ultimately, the theory is that Trump opted to keep the fireworks going, and that meant not firing either Vivica or Kenya for the time being.

One interesting thing that we learned here? That Geraldo Rivera was not even present for the entire task! He was observing a Jewish holiday for part of the task, and that led to Kate simply having to work with Kenya and Vivica for a time.

Kate probably should feel pretty good about her time on the show. She seemed to get better as time progressed, and she didn’t come across as silly or like she was having a hard time handling the long hours of the competition. Plus, she seemed to know how to handle Geraldo better than anyone else on the season.
