‘Criminal Minds’ season 10 spoilers: Joe Mantegna on Rossi, Gideon’s past
Wednesday night’s new episode of “Criminal Minds” is one that we have been looking forward to seeing for quite some time, and by and large due to the fact that we have not had that many opportunities to have a window into Rossi and Gideon’s past like we are about to. Ben Savage is making a high-profile guest appearance as young Gideon, and through a series of flashbacks, we are expecting to find out quite a bit about a case that these two men hoped to solve many decades ago.
So what will we find out about these people specifically through these flashbacks? This is something that Mantegna addresses in a chat with TV Guide, explaining that there are many interesting things to note here that give us so much further insight into how they operated back then, and also why it was so valuable that they had so many differences:
“You’ll see the traits that pretty much dictate who we were and who we are … It’s not one of those things where we’ve each changed as we got older. Rossi and Gideon are two different guys, but sometimes that’s the chemistry you need to make something happen. He’s quiet; I’m more outgoing. It’s almost like a marriage in a way – opposites attract, yin and yang. … You see aspects of his character and my character and how they work in a positive way to help build the unit. I would say they got along very well.”
It is going to be a fun episode just to see Gideon back in any capacity, given the fact that we’re probably never going to see Mandy Patinkin back as the character, but he was an integral part of the show during its early days.
We’ll have some more updates on this episode as it gets closer to airing, but for now, head over here to check out the latest. Also, sign up now for some further TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)
