‘Scream Queens’ spoilers: Nick Jonas joins Ariana Grande, Lea Michele, more in Ryan Murphy series
Ryan Murphy has yet to give us really that much proof that “Scream Queens” is going to be a successful new show on Fox, but we’ve already gotten a little bit more of a sense of how aggressive the “Glee” / “American Horror Story” producer is being in regards to his cast.
According to a new report coming out now from The Hollywood Reporter, Nick Jonas has officially signed on for a recurring role, and he joins a cast that includes Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Emma Roberts, Joe Manganiello, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Another pop star in Ariana Grande has signed on in a recurring role, as well. Jonas currently stars over on the DirecTV series “Kingdom,” and also has a hit single on the radio right now in “Jealous.” It is smart for him to attach himself to another popular show, given that he is covering his bases, and he also knows that the radio can be very fickle when it comes to future singles.
This series is slated to be a horror anthology of sorts, with each season centering around a different theme much like “American Horror Story.” Supposedly, the first season would be set around a college campus, which seems to be a perfect spot if you are looking for this cast in particular to deliver.
Overall, we do think that the talent is here for Murphy to have another huge hit. What we’re somewhat unsure about at the moment is if getting all of these people together means a great show. He has shown in the past that he can get great casts, but fails in the execution.
