‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 6, episode 14 review: Water shortage, veggie burgers and a cactus
“NCIS: Los Angeles” has spent 6 seasons getting Kensi and Deeks together as a couple and just before the holidays they took the plunge and are in a full on relationship. We were so excited to see the follow up episodes and see how this would change on the show: Would we see more physical contact? A little less joking and more serious talks? So far absolutely nothing changed and it’s been disappointing to say the least.
Tonight we have some classic Deeks behavior going on as he tries to save the planet (well Los Angeles at least). It’s no secret that Los Angeles has a water shortage and that the drought in 2014 was a pretty bad one, so it was fun to see Deeks trying to do his part to make sure everyone conserved water. This included draining the fountain at work, replacing the water guzzling plants with a cactus and encouraging people to only flush the toilet if they were doing something other then peeing. Of course no one on the team is on board with Deeks “no flushing” policy and he gets a bit of karma back when he gets stuck with his own cactus. Seems that Deek’s water shortage solutions are rubbing off on Eric as he tries to use his rain stick to bring on a down pour. Did it work? No, of course not, but it did get a little cloudy.
We also had Sam and Callen working under cover in Mexico at a food truck and in true Sam fashion he decided that their burger truck should feature veggie burgers. Turns out it was a big hit with the locals, but their fake business was found out fairly quickly.
We may not have seen a lot of Kensi and Deeks relationship, but we did have a few great laughs because of their banter. There was one moment that made us go “awwwww” and thats when Deeks decided to go first in a dangerous situation to protect Kensi saying “this is why you never fall in love”. We swooned. Episode grade: B-
