ABC’s ‘Resurrection’ season 2 finale review: Rachael’s baby; the mass return
Tonight, the story on “Resurrection” really exploded all over the place, with a number of developments that have been teased for some time. However, we were never quite 100% sure that we were going to see them actually come to fruition until now.
For example, know this: Rachael’s baby actually did enter the world! Despite the attempts by Preacher James to stop what he thought was the Antichrist, the child still found a way to survive. At the same time, though, the entire planet felt what was the mass return that we’d heard so much about going into this episode.
At the end of the episode, the show had a pretty major change: It flashed forward to after the mass return, and how things have changed all across the world. Bellamy is now working for a specific government bureau all about the Returned, while there is some change taking place in the government when it comes to taxes and voting rights. James is locked away, but he still feels as strongly as ever that the Apocalypse is here.
Also, Bellamy and Maggie are together. ‘Shippers rejoice! What this finale did was pretty sound in that it tied together the story in the present, but also gave us something that could be a season 3, at least in the event the show gets renewed. What’s the cliffhanger? Unless all of those bugs came out of nowhere and just had an affinity for windows, maybe Bellamy was actually right!
Overall, this was a pretty sound finale. We liked the majority of the story behind it, and the way in which it was resolved. Just don’t get too optimistic about the future. Grade: B+.

I think it was a good place to end the series. It just seems to be hard to go forward with this show unless we look at more characters and their stories.
