Miss Universe 2015: Gabriela Isler, Manny Pacquiao, Nick Jonas, and more on NBC
On Sunday night, one of the most-watched events of the entire year is going to air on NBC … and it is not the Super Bowl. Instead, we are talking about the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant! This is broadcast all the world over, and while America may not be the most passionate country in the world about it, some other places especially are. (In particular, we’ve seen huge headlines coming out of the Philippines.)
First things first, scheduling. The pageant begins at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, and will run for at least three hours. We’ll have to wait and see if there are any delays or anything else.
As for the panel of judges, expect to see a variety of familiar faces. In addition to NFL star DeSean Jackson and reality staple Lisa Vanderpump, you also have Kristin Cavallari, William Levy, Louise Roe, Emilio Estefan, and Nina Garcia. Isn’t this quite a wide array of people? You are also going to have performances from Gavin DeGraw, Prince Royce, and Nick Jonas. The latter is particularly notable, if for no other reason than that Nick has a girlfriend in Olivia Culpo who is a former Miss Universe. We imagine that he’ll be singing his hit song “Jealous,” which will get plenty of attention.
This entire pageant should be entertaining to some and silly to others, but as a whole, it should be interesting to see what the public thinks about it. Gabriela Isler is the reigning Miss Universe, and she will be passing down her sash to someone else by the end of the show.
We’ll have some of the results from this show a little later tonight, so stay tuned! Also, be sure to sign up now to get some further TV updates on everything we cover, courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: NBC.)
