While there was almost nothing to report about when it comes to “The Blacklist” over the past few weeks (save for a couple press releases and a photo or two), let’s just say that we expect that to change a little bit now that we’re getting a little bit closer to the show’s upcoming Super Bowl spectacular. The producers and cast know that the expectations are high, and NBC also knows that they have nothing to lose by promoting this as much as possible.
The video below takes you behind the scenes at the post-Super Bowl episode “Luther Braxton,” and that includes your first look at Ron Perlman as the title character. He is a notorious thief, but as you learn over the course of the two episodes in which he appears, he is also a killer and an extremely powerful man. He’s not someone that you want to mess with.
We feel like the allure of this gig for Perlman was probably a combination of things, including the magnitude of these episodes and the prestige of people who have appeared already, including Paul Reubens and Alan Alda.
Also in the video, series stars Megan Boone and James Spader do a very good job of navigating you through what appear to be some of the bigger storylines at play here, and that includes setting up the world following the death of Berlin. While you would think that Reddington’s rampage (which included the death of Alda’s Fitch) would make things easier, it has not turned out that way. Instead, this world is only more complicated than it was previously.
