‘The Voice UK’ preview: More Rita Ora, Tom Jones, and performances!

The Blind Auditions are continuing on this season of “The Voice” UK, and we’ve got another welcome slice of evidence of it: The latest promo now via the BBC!

In this one, you can see a few exciting moments here and there, as we continue to be convinced that Rita Ora is a welcome addition to the panel. Tom Jones still is Tom Jones, and while the whole idea of the blind auditions is not new anymore, it still is easy to get excited.

There is one thing that we really still do not understand about what the BBC is doing right now, and that is the way that they are promoting this show. Why are you just giving us highlights of the coaches? We understand that they are the selling point right now more than the artists, but it would be nice to make at least some sort of effort to show that the singers matter more than anything else.

At least the show itself is typically pretty strong at this point in the season, even if we have yet to really see any talent who we feel is poised for instant stardom. Then again, we’ve felt that way about most singers that we’ve had on the show over the past few years. Most are solid performers, but none have given us that spark of instant stardom we want. Ultimately, we feel like that is what this show really needs to get itself to the next level and actually be a legitimate “X Factor” threat.
