‘Top Chef: Boston’ episode 12 preview: More than a hill of beans
Everyone loves beans in Beantown, right? Well, we don’t know that, but on Wednesday night’s new episode of “Top Chef: Boston,” the remaining chefs are tasked with cooking a dish based on this one ingredient for renowned chef Wylie Dufresne. He is not necessarily an easy person to impress, so our heart goes out to the chefs.
In the sneak peek below, you can even see Gregory, George, Melissa, and Mei feel a little bit of intimidation once they hear about the challenge. What they have to combat here first and foremost is the trouble of having to elevate something that is ultimately one of the more simple ingredients that they’ve made all season long. Almost everyone out there knows how to do at least one or two things with beans, so it’s pretty darn difficult to figure out a way to make them stand out.
Here’s what we wonder going into this episode with the knowledge that Melissa is already safe for the finale due to her winning the challenge things past week. Is it going to help her not having the pressure of knowing that she is fighting for her life in the competition? It’s possible, but it is also possible that the competitive fire will not be there for her as much as the other chefs.
This is the final Quickfire of the season in Boston, as the final episode of the series look to be filmed in Mexico with the three remaining chefs and the “Last Chance Kitchen” winner squaring off.
