‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: Story for Mariska Hargitay, cast in ‘Decaying Morality’
There are a series of new episodes of “Law & Order: SVU” that are going to be airing throughout the month of February, but we now have some of the first details about one that will be kicking the month off in “Decaying Morality.” This story does not necessarily have a big premise that will draw headlines, but there is a difficult case at the center of it that will challenge Benson, Rollins, and the rest of the team. Just trying to get enough evidence for an arrest will be a challenge on its own.
NBC this week released the official synopsis for the hour, and you can take a look at that right away below:
“Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Rollins (Kelli Giddish) find a teenaged girl crying in the street, her clothes torn. Jenna Davis (guest star Haley Lu Richardson) says she was raped in a pizzeria bathroom by Jerome Jones (guest star Kamal Bolden). Jones has a criminal record as well as a pending lawsuit against the NYPD, but with little evidence to go on, the SVU releases him until an arrest can be made. With emotions running high, Jenna’s father (guest star Jamie McShane) takes the law into his own hands with a decision that will change their lives forever.”
If you are looking for specific character-related plotlines, we know that there are many of those coming up in the future. For example, the episode airing Wednesday will be key to Nick Amaro’s future, and Ice-T has already teased that he will have some time in the spotlight soon enough and anytime we have more Ice-T the happier we are.

Gosh I love this show with a passion. This is the only “guilty pleasure” I would allow myself in Med school where every second counts. As an African/Caucasian immigrant to the US, I get very excited to see the likes of me depicted. However, I cannot swallow the misplaced and inaccurate accents the actors of those roles use. They are clearly and painfully fake. Can we see some effort to remedy this travesty.

Love that this season is centered around the characters evolving as individuals and as a whole. I personally love all the characters and what the actors each bring to the table. Love all the episodes of season 16 so far but my favorite had to be agent provacature, just love the dialogue and interactions

No please less Kelli Giddish. I can’t stand Rollins and would much prefer SVU without her.

I’m sorry you don’t like her. Kelli Giddish is a very pretty and very smart woman. While they have been writing more things for her in season 15 and now season 16, they didn’t write enough for her in seasons 13 and 14. Some people think I’m obsessed with her. When NBC does the right thing and pays her what She deserves, I will tone it down.

More Kelli Giddish? What could be better than more Kelli Giddish! What we all need to see are continued high ratings for SVU. NBC has said NOTHING about renewing the show for next season, while other channels are renewing shows so mediocre in comparison that it makes you want to scratch your head(but not enough to make it bleed). CBS has renewed Madam Secretary and Scorpion, which have no business being mentioned in the same breath as SVU, except I’m writing, not speaking. There are only 6 main characters in this show, so there isn’t any reason for there only to be stories centering mostly on Mariska Hargitay.

I think you’re obsessed with Kelly Gidish. Will you be her, only disguised? For long, the SVU show no longer Mariska Hargitay centered. There have been many episodes focusing on Kelly. I have nothing against this actress but it is not fair to say that only brings SVU Mariska stories centered. And if so it would be natural, after all she is the lead actress of the show. Mariska has 16 years of SVU. Kelly only 5. As much as Kelly has fans, it is far, very far from being a Mariska Hargitay. Get real. If you access the SVU’s page on facebook you will see that many, many same, do not support the character Amanda Rollins.

Thank you for an intelligent response. AM I obsessed with Kelli? Maybe a little.. I am an avid supporter of her. I couldn’t look like Kelli Giddish without having a total lobotomy. I don’t have a problem with Ms. Hargitay. I know that there are a lot of people who aren’t big fans of Kelli Giddish and her character, Amanda Rollins. Too bad for them. Unfortunately, Since you only read this, you have no idea what I’m about. I am a very big fan of this show, and I want to see it continue for a long time. I have no patience for people who say the show should end if Mariska Hargitay leaves, and/or because Chris Meloni is no longer there. If Mariska wants to keep doing the show. even though she has 3 young children at home, that’s fine. The problem is that NBC has been cutting the payroll for SVU for the last 4 years. Everybody’s contract is up after this year(except Mariska’s). Kelli, Danny, Raul Esparza and Peter Scanavino together make less per episode than the $400,000 per episode they were paying Chris Meloni. The ratings on the show have been mostly very good. Kelli Giddish(especially) and Danny Pino should be getting major pay raises. IF NBC insists on cutting the payroll again, either or both of them could be gone. Kelli Giddish will be the future of this show should Mariska decide she’s had enough(which there were many articles about Mariska leaving last spring). Until the show is renewed and Kelli is offered a fair deal, I will continue to rip NBC and hope I can convince others to write and back up what I am saying. If I knew how to use Twitter, I could do a lot more.

Go Michael :) I get you, am also an avid supporter of Kellis’ (but also a tad bit obsessed I will admit) & SVU without her would just not be as good. I hope she, as well as Danny, Raul & Peter, stays on. We are finally getting an episode with the entire cast (can you believe it!?) and I hope they realize rotating detectives is just a very, very stupid idea, certainly not a good way to save money. And not good for ratings either, I haven’t even seen last week’s ep just cause Amanda/Kelli wasn’t in it, that has never happened since SVU.02 started :X
So here’s to a renewal & Kelli getting the raise she deserves!! Have a good one! (& you should really get on Twitter! & not only cause I’m posting #SVUsadpoems every Wednesday when Kelli’s not on)

You talk like you know Mariska. About dissse the fact that she had three children is impediment for her to continue on the show. The decision is hers. She is not tired, on the contrary. She has said that love the show and only comes out when it is not renewed. Another thing: Kelly is not as pretty as well. I not see so many compliments on her beauty. In recent seasons, the episodes that had better classification were rather focused on Mariska. Take note: If Mariska out, the show ends. Kelly Gidish has no beauty or talent, or charisma to bring this show alone. Only one character would be equal to or greater than Mariska: Chris Meloni with Eliot Stabler.

I’m only going to say this: 1) There were many articles last May saying Mariska was tired and wanted to leave. She didn’t respond until 4 months later and you never saw them. 2) I only mentioned her children because she has 3 of them under 10 and she is over 50. She can raise them anyway she wants; I don’t care. 3) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and as a man, I feel that Kelli Giddish is very beautiful. That’s my call. She brings a lot to this show and we can agree to disagree over this. 4) You think that Chris Meloni is wonderful. I think that he is a decent actor and this became The Chris Meloni show from seasons 9-12 and sometimes it was very tough to watch. 5) Because all you have known is Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni, you aren’t interested in giving anyone else a chance. If Mariska leaves, feel free to stop watching. There are plenty of other actresses out there that could come in and take over. They may not be Mariska, but if the writing is good and the stories are interesting, the show can continue.

A woman of 50 years is not any old. And Mariska is rich and can hire as many nannies she wants. You are mentindo.Nunca read any articles saying that Mariska was tired Another thing: clearly you want Mariska leave to make room for Kelly Gidish. I repeat: Kelly not has beauty and talent to drive alone SVU. It is not surprising that Kelly series has been canceled. Mariska after 51 years is more beautiful than Kelly with 34. I’ll take my opinion. You with your. Not there are more to talk about.

To comment on someones beauty is so shallow & silly so I won’t even comment on that but to say Kelli lacks charisma & talent is just plain wrong. She would not be on SVU in the first place if she couldn’t act & she proved with Chase that she can be a leading lady.
