‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: When could Steven R. McQueen’s Jeremy leave?

JeremyRecently, the news broke at the CW TCA event that Steven R. McQueen is ready to move on to the next phase of his career, and this includes saying goodbye to a series in “The Vampire Diaries” that he has called home since the very beginning.

The hard part of that is making sure that the character departs in a way that makes sense for him, and also does not devastate anyone else too much. With this in mind, it does not seem like the show is going to be killing Jeremy off (again), or doing anything that is particularly evil. Based on what we’ve heard, he is going off to art school instead.

The synopsis below for the upcoming February 5 episode entitled “The Day I Tried to Live” does not give away everything, but it does offer up a little bit of insight into Jeremy’s thought process. Not only that, but the question about getting Bonnie back into the present-day Mystic Falls is going to continue. Hopefully, we are going to see some results there sooner rather than later. It would be fairly depressing to see Jeremy leave without even getting to see Bonnie in the flesh again.

“Determined to celebrate Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) birthday, Elena (Nina Dobrev) convinces Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) that it’s what Bonnie would have wanted. After piecing the broken ascendant back together, Elena, Jeremy and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) attempt to send Bonnie a message, but the situation turns dire when they make an unsettling discovery. Meanwhile, after uncovering Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) secret about his great-niece Sarah Salvatore (guest star Tristan Mays), Enzo (Michael Malarkey) enlists a reluctant Matt (Zach Roerig) to help interfere with her life. Elsewhere, Stefan keeps a close eye on Caroline (Candice Accola) as she unconventionally attempts to cope with everything going on around her. Lastly, realizing it might be time to move on with his life, Jeremy contemplates leaving Mystic Falls for good.”
