ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4 spoilers: Episode order extended (sort of)

Emily -As it turns out, “Revenge” season 4 is going to be a little bit longer than anyone first assumed, but not entirely in the way that you would think.

According to a new report from SpoilerTV, the ABC series has officially added another episode to its order, but this 23rd installment (which will air at some point before the finale) is going to be some sort of “clip show hybrid.” If we were to draw a comparison between this and another recent episode of a network show, we’d say to look at the “Castle” installment entitled “Still.” That had a little bit of a story, but also a variety of clips from the past thrown in to supplement it. The story was clearly made on a low budget, but it was a great way to ensure that there was a lineup of all-new program.

Ultimately, we feel like this is what this is all about for “Revenge.” ABC wants to advertise all-new lineups later this year, and with “Once Upon a Time” coming back, this means that they for sure have another week in which they can do that.

For the time being, though, we would not draw any assumptions that this is automatically going to lead to the show getting a renewal, or that it has a better chance of a renewal. These are just things that we’ll have to watch out for moving forward.
