‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ review: Geraldo Rivera, Ian Ziering face off in huge episode 5 money battle

Ian Ziering -Monday night’s second episode of “The Celebrity Apprentice” proved to be just as interesting as the first, and for a pair of different reasons. First and foremost, you had a swapping of the teams! Ian Ziering, Johnny Damon, and Terrell Owens ended up with Brandi Glanville, Kenya Moore, and Leeza Gibbons, while the rest of the competitors were on the other team.

The moment that Ian learned that this was a fundraising task, he immediately decided to step up as Project Manager … against Geraldo Rivera. This was an ego battle, and both parties really killed it when it comes to bringing in funds. Even Kate Gosselin killed it after a struggle last week, and interestingly, her money made the difference between Geraldo’s team winning and losing.

Ultimately, with these tasks, it is not so much about selling wedding dresses as it is the money, and who contributed the most. For some reason, we don’t get the sense that Terrell or Johnny is that comfortable raising money, and Owens even said that in a confessional.

Terrell’s writing was on the wall here, as he just didn’t bring in the funds. He seemed to carry himself well in his exit, and while that is honorable, it also made this episode a little bit noneventful beyond Kate pretending to be Geraldo’s bride outside of the store. He had a pretty good run for the most part, but if we were slightly disappointed by any one thing, it would be that we didn’t really see a whole lot of the super-entertaining TO that we saw so much on the football field. Grade: B-.
