‘The Bachelor’ review: Kaitlyn Bristowe, Ashley Iaconetti, Ashley Salter stun Chris Soules

Kaitlyn -There were many events that took place on “The Bachelor” Monday night, and some of them were entertaining! Then, we also had some downright weird stuff from start to finish. For example, what’s going on with Ashley Salter? We think we have come up with a perfect explanation for who Ashley really is: She is basically the incarnation of the Girl You Wish You Hand’t Started a Conversation with at a Party. She is just out there, and there is no real other explanation for it.

Before that happened, we’ll say that the dates were somewhat ridiculous. The bikini tractor race? Tacky. Hats off to Mackenzie for managing to still stand out and get a rose despite this nutty charade that she was forced to put on. She is doing a whole lot better than we thought she would going into the season.

The same ultimately can be said for Kaitlyn Bristowe in some ways. We liked her going into the premiere, but was then skeptic after the premiere. In the second, zombie-themed group date, she really managed to be personal, but at the same time still fun. That’s rare at this time.

As for the other standout of the episode, it’s not even Megan Bell! She got the first one-on-one date of the entire season, but it was for the most part extremely boring. The big standout was Ashley Iaconetti, whose story as a virgin was clearer than ever. Not only that, but she got a steamy kissing session with Chris to boot.

Most of the rose recipients tonight were predictable, from Ashley to Britt Nilsson to Jillian Anderson. He also kept Ashley! This was the shocker of the night. We lost mostly contestants that are hard to remember, save for maybe Tara Eddings, who continued to drink a ton throughout the first few days of being on the show, and also Kimberly Sherbach after she was brought back. Episode Grade: C+.
