Tonight is going to be a rather strange one when it comes to new TV programming. Due to the College Football Championship over on ESPN, a few networks are deciding that they would rather sit this one out than run the risk of jeopardizing their own ratings, especially when there are many important weeks still to go in this season.
Clearly, “Gotham” is one of these said shows. Episode 12 is not going to be airing on Fox tonight, which is quite a shame given that wonderful Jack Gruber cliffhanger that they came up with on last week’s episode. Instead, the show will return in seven days to continue the Arkham Asylum story for James Gordon.
As a whole, “Gotham” has quite a bit to be proud of at this very moment. After all, remember here that this is a show that debuted to big numbers in September, but has done for the most part a good job of holding on to them. This is not exactly easy for a show in the comic-book realm to pull off. Look at the big drop for “Agents of SHIELD” as one significant example of that. This is made even more impressive due solely to the network here being Fox. There have not exactly been many examples as of late of Fox lighting it up when it comes to the ratings.
While there may not be anything new to watch tonight, have no fear: We’re going to have some other updates on what lies ahead throughout the week.
