‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: Cote de Pablo would consider eventual return
Over the past year and a half, getting interviews with Cote de Pablo in America has not exactly been an easy proposition. The actress is fairly private, and not a major contributor on social media. So finding out what she had to say about her exit from “NCIS” was not easy.
With that being said, Cote was present in California today in order to promote her new miniseries “The Dovekeepers,” and of course many questions regarding the CBS procedural started to come her way. She confirmed, per TVLine, that she has no regrets over deciding to end her time on the show after eight years. With that being said, there is a part of her that wishes her exit from the show could have taken place over a larger span of time:
“I think it was rushed. I would have liked a little bit of closure, but I think all in all I could not be more blessed, because I got a chance to be with my ‘love,’ Michael [Weatherly]. Any time you put Michael and I together there’s going to be a spark, and there’s going to be real honesty, and for that I am forever grateful, because in that sense there was a sense of conclusion as far as what [they] felt for each other.”
Meanwhile, Cote added that “under the right circumstances,” she does imagine that the future for Ziva David could be explored on the show. (We haven’t heard of any specific plans, but never say never.) She is hesitant at the moment to become a series regular on a new series, saying mostly that she does not know if she wants to sign a six-plus year contract at the start of one of them.
Above all, we’re just glad to see Cote back out there promoting something again. We’ve maintained for over a year that we will probably see Ziva again at some point, and it is mostly a question of finding the right story and the right time.
There’s a new episode of “NCIS” airing tomorrow, so head over here for some further scoop! Also, sign up now to get some further TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)

Even though Cote left at the last minute it has never been revealed exactly what happened. I agree with a lot of folks that she had every intention to stay but things couldn’t be worked out. If she had intended to leave I think that she would have said something to the network in Season 10 and then the writers would have planned a better and maybe a longer write out for the character either at the end of Season 10 or early Season 11. I’m still wondering if she wanted her character’s screen time reduced so she could work it both ways – stay with NCIS but still have enough time to do other stuff. It does appear that they are willing to have her back at some point and as we know she has revealed that she is open to the idea as well so that makes me wonder after all this hoohah this past year or so, the network is finally coming to its senses and being more open to giving actors some leeway in time commitment in their contracts. Also, reading between the lines in her comments, I get the feeling she needed some downtime as well. For that they could have just had Ziva stay in Israel in hiding for whatever time Cote needed off and then brought Ziva back. At any rate we will just have to wait and see whether amends will be made and she will come back. My own personal feeling is that she may return for a guest spot or short story arc but not as a full time regular.

Why did the Cote haters not criticize Michael Weatherly when he has said on more than one occasion that he would like to have Cote come back to NCIS? Why didn’t they criticize Glasberg when he he said that there was no bad blood between Cote and him and seemed to leave the door open for her return? Cote is a friend of Michael’s. Why get upset if she called him her “love.” Cote is a Latina. One Latina I know says that her people are very emotional, warm hearted people. Since when has that become a crime? What would the haters do if she did come back? Would they stop watching NCIS? Would they get so mad that they had strokes? Would they be so distraught that they would all have to be put on Prozac? I don’t understand all of this hatred toward someone they have never even met.

Cote appears to be a very warm and loving person. I think she is one of the few women that can have more than one love in her life. I have no reason to doubt that she loves her partner Diego very much and the “love” she expresses for Michael is very much like that of a little sister. I have watched Youtube clips of the two of them together in interviews and Michael teases the daylights out of her much like a much older brother would. I cannot see Michael teasing his wife in the same fashion. From everything I’ve heard and read about Cote from fellow cast and crews on everything she’s done and been with it has always been very positive.

I find it really unsettling that all the negative comments about Cote. I will easily admit I am and always be a fan of hers and of TIVA. I even like Emily Wickersham which apparently is rare. But the constant negative CDP comments leave me with a few honest questions to the haters.
1. When did CDP get so much power that she has warranted as Alicia said finger pointing?
2. In regards to CDP making the my love Michael comment? Ever hear of knowing how to makes fans happy?
3. (#2 continued). If there are those that bash or are negative towards MW’s wife, I can agree its wrong. But if it was so awful as some seem to think answer me this… Do you believe that MW &/or his wife are at least remotely intelligent and adult enough? And if it’s as bad as some want us to believe, Don’t you think MW &/or his wife would speak up about this? I do & do so because I believe they are in fact intelligent and adult enough.
Hatters feel free to correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t MW meet his wife years after CDP joined the cast. I ask b/c Bonaja seems like a intelligent woman. If those that ship Mote bothered her (b/c the rude comments likely started before her marrying Michael) so much why would she marry him.
So haters while you have every right to hate CDP &/or Ziva you really are insulting a lot of other people. TPTB of NCIS for hiring her & allowing the chemistry to be written between Tony & Ziva. Not to mention to apparently think that McW &/or his wife to be stupid & childish not to speak up to Mote fans and say back the ‘f’ up.

They are insulting Donald P. Bellisario, who created the character, Ziva, and told TPTB that he wanted Cote to play Ziva. I trust Bellisario’s opinion when he was show runner more than any of the haters.

Since her father died, she could head up mosoud (sp).

There’s already a new Mossad director. Ziva wouldn’t be allowed to become the director. She’s not a part of Mossad anymore and is an American citizen

What further cracks me up, in a grrr kind of way, is bitterness all around particularly at Emily Wickersham. Who wants cookie cutter characters. THAT would be boring. Can’t fault someone for getting a job

It cracks me up how all fingers point to Cote. CBS is a business. They have a hand in how things went down. They didn’t have to wait. That’s what deadlines are for. You slow you blow. That’s how a business operates. If you don’t meet a deadline, all bets are off.

Stay classy Cote de Pablo!!

Cote was the only hot woman on NCIS and I’d love to see Ziva return and kick Bishop’s butt out of the building and the show!
Looks like the old ladies of the Harmon and McCallum fan club don’t agree but who cares!
Funny that some of the commenting ladies think they have to protect Weatherly”s marriage!
He’s a grown up guy and what guy wouldn’t feel appreciated when a hot woman calls him “love”!

Sorry to deflate you Fan boy crush, you put Cote and Pauley together side by side and Pauley comes out on top. Pauley is beautiful, stunning, and Classy. Pauley is sexy without shoving it in you face and without trying, Pauley is natural and down to earth. Sorry to say cote trys to hard. All those sexy poses on the show and in pics just makes her look cheap.

Why do ppl always act like someone threw out Ziva.. like she was forced out.. she left bcause she wanted too.. how she wanted too.. when she wanted too yes, she was a good actor.. but to much of the show were at times focused around her… i actually like Bishop, and especially this growing Mcgee – Bishop thing thats going.. i also liked kate… so what.. its a tv show.. its good.. and it has good actors.. this “hating” is plain childish.. i hope they keep Bishop.. i also think on the long run she can become just as deep as all the other members of the show..
I also think it could be quite fun to see Ziva and Bishop together.. i actually think they could make a nice combo aswell.. supplementing eachother nicely..

Did you have to repeat that “My love, Michael” comment. At this point that sort of comment only panders to, and enflame, the fanatical sector of the Cote de Pablo fan base who cannot separate reality from fantasy and have been responsible for targeted hate against Bojana Weatherly for daring to be Michael’s wife instead of Cote: not responsible reporting. Personally, I’d like to see one of you reporter types ask her about the behavior of her fans with regards Emily Wickersham and calls for that actress to be sacked so Cote can come back, commentary hoping NCIS would tank now that Ziva is not there, some of the nastier comments about Bojana etc none of which has been addressed instead we are getting revisionist history about her departure.

Please – I don’t need anymore of the tragic wonder Ziva show. While CdP had every right to decide to quit, she left all of her co-workers in a terrible lurch. The constant focus on Ziva’s tragedies and wonder skills as well as her smug abrasive manner wore thin with somewhere after season 6. Don’t care to see Tony portrayed as her admiring purse or whipping boy either. No Ziva please.

Agreed. And the hypocrisy of saying her departure was rushed and she would have liked more closure, when she was the one who quit at the last moment and made herself all but unavailable for her farewell episodes is stunning.

I agree. They should just have her die off screen. This arc is a good way to do it, if the dare

So basically the no talent actress can’t find work and now is hoping to be asked back.
