‘The Flash’ spoilers: Tom Cavanagh on the big Reverse Flash shocker

Throughout most of the winter hiatus for “The Flash,” both Tom Cavanagh and the majority of the cast members on the series were very good at one thing above all else: Not saying too much about the whole Reverse Flash story. After all, we have many questions! (Spoilers ahead?)

So how was Harrison Wells basically fighting himself near the end of the winter finale? There are still some things that we don’t understand, with one of the other ones being whether or not he is really a bad guy. It does seem like it, based on what happen to Barry Allen’s mom. Yet, there is another part of him that has been very nurturing of Barry, and he doesn’t seem to want to kill him for the sake of the future.

Speaking (per Entertainment Weekly) at the show’s TCA event, Cavanagh confirmed that he is in fact the Reverse Flash, but did not deny many of the other popular theories out there, including that there is a connection of sorts between himself and Eddie Thawne that is no coincidence.

For those curious, a little later this season we are going to get some other perspectives on the night that Barry’s mother was murdered. May we have some more insight in terms of a motive? It’s possible, and at least one of many things that you should be watching out for in the second half of the season.

“The Flash” returns with new episodes across the board on Tuesday, January 20, so be on the lookout for more on Wells, and the return of Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold.
