‘Madam Secretary’ episode 13 preview: Tea Leoni and international relations

Madam Secretary -We’ll give the writers of “Madam Secretary” a whole lot of credit going into the new episode airing Sunday night. After all, these are not people looking to dumb anything down for the sake of TV at all. Rather, they seem more interested in producing the content that they want to, and then hoping that the audience will meet them at the right level.

If you are not familiar with the language of this show, or the language of government and international language, you are probably going to be lost after watching the new sneak peek below. After all, this is about Elizabeth (Tea Leoni) trying to weave together a complicated scenario involving arrivals to America, the Middle East, countries that allow for extradition, and much more. One wrong move, and you end up ticking off people you don’t want to tick off.

What we’ve learned about Elizabeth, though, is that she is not the sort of character to be easily swayed or manipulated by the situation, or how many powerful people there are in the room. Instead, she is going to stand for what she believes in, and try to do everything possible to make some good happen for the sake of the country.

The story over the next few weeks is going to heat up, and what excites us about this is that we don’t quite feel that Elizabeth’s biggest challenges as Secretary of State have arrived yet. We don’t ever want to see the show reach a “Scandal” level of crazy, but it will be entertaining to see at least things unravel a little more than they have so far.
