‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ video: How Twisty, other fabulous characters are made

American Horror Story -Want a view into the world of “American Horror Story: Freak Show” … at least in terms of how the show is made? Well, FX has released a new video that gives you a sense of what is one of the most stellar aspects of the series, and that is the work that is going into creating some of these fantastic makeup jobs that you are seeing on this series week in and week out.

Just look at how much makeup and prosthetic work this show has needed to have done. Some of the bigger ones include the hands for Jimmy, the entire Twisty get-up, and of course all of the tattoos that you have on Grace Gummer’s face. Then, you cannot forget about Ethel’s beard, Desiree’s three breasts, or even just some of the heavy stage makeup that some of the performers wear. It’s a lot of work, but it may be a dream come true for this team to work on stuff like this.

As a whole, we’d say that this is the best season that this team has had a chance to work on, since you have such an array of interesting characters. Some of these builds also take a tremendous amount of time. For example, it takes a good hour and a half just to get the Twisty makeup complete, and for some of the episodes this season, one of the big challenges was getting everything done at around the same time.

The one luxury that some of these people may have now is merely that many of these characters are now dead. You’ll get to see the remaining cast members over the final two episodes on FX.
