‘Call the Midwife’ season 4 trailer: A proposal and so much more

Trixie -Come a week from Sunday, “Call the Midwife” will make its grand return to BBC One. The good news for all fans? You don’t have to wait anywhere near as long right now to see the first official trailer for the episodes ahead.

For the most part, we cannot say that this trailer gives away everything in the world, but we are pretty darn stoked still to see that it is out there. The biggest development in here is probably Trixie (Helen George) getting a marriage proposal, but even this may be somewhat inconsequential given that we don’t get her answer to it just yet.

What is probably the most interesting thing about watching these particular trailers time and time again is that somehow, the network manages to make this show look far more happy and pleasant than it actually is. If the storylines made us smile as much as these promos do, we’d probably leave every episode in a completely different mood. While the quality of the show is still tremendous, we are also confident in saying there are few shows out there that make us this sad. One of the only ones that we can really think of off of the top of our head is “The Leftovers” over on HBO.

When it comes to basic details, there are eight episodes once again this season. Expect more of George and Miranda Hart than ever before, as these two are probably set to be more of the series’ anchors now that Jessica Raine has left the show to pursue other things.
