ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4, episode 12 video: Emily gets closer to Ben

Emily Thorne has shown to be very smart over the course of “Revenge,” and if she is up to some questionable activities, there is typically one group of people you want to lean on in some way, it is the police.

Therefore, should you really be surprised in the sneak peek below to see Emily VanCamp’s character get a little bit closer to Ben? We don’t think so. While there may be some subtle flirting going on here, there is nothing too overt. She takes a vested interest in his personal life, which he seems to appreciate. In addition, she says that she would “like” to go on a date with him, as has been supposedly promised.

The twist? Emily makes it clear that she is not going to be in town for much longer, and therefore may have to take a rain-check on the idea of a date for now. He seems to be okay with that, and we can at least take from this that Ben is probably not going to be going anywhere on the show at any point in the near future.

The reality here is that even if Emily is interested in romance right now (which is debatable), she does have some much bigger fish to fry that she does not even know about just yet. For example, Malcolm Black (Tommy Flanagan) is on his way to causing all sorts of chaos in the Hamptons. We saw this very thing teased at the end of this past episode.
