‘Outlander’ spoilers: An episode 9 surprise, early season 2 scoop, more from TCA

Starz had their big event at the Television Critics Association on Friday, and for “Outlander” fans, this is definitely a reason to be thrilled. After all, you had more scoop on the series through this event than you’ve really had over the past few months. Not only that, but many of the stars and creators behind the scenes were present.

One of the most interesting bits of scoop that came out of the entire event was learning that the upcoming April 4 return of the show to the network is going to feature an episode with a very different perspective. Executive producer Ron D. Moore told panelists that the show was going to be creating an episode that really emphasized above all else Jamie, and would be told from his perspective. This is a chance to further accent the world, beyond just giving you everything from Claire’s point of view.

Surprisingly, there was quite a bit of talk about the show’s second season, which is due to start filming this year, just as much as there was the end of the first. Despite having some scenes set in very different places beyond Scotland, filming will remain in the country. Also, this is when you can expect a substantial dose of storytelling regarding the 20th century once again. It is something to keep in mind while watching the final eight of season 1.

“Outlander” was renewed for a 13-episode season 2 last year, and we understand why. After all, this has become one of the biggest hits in the history of the Starz network in a very short amount of time.
