‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 6 spoilers: More news on Julie Chen appearance

Julie Chen -While there is no new episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” coming up on CBS Monday night (thank the college football playoff for that), you will get a chance to see the crime show yet again on January 19, when we have a new episode entitled “In the Line of Duty.”

Recently, we heard that Julie Chen of “The Talk” / “Big Brother” fame was going to be making an appearance, but until now, some of the details were rather sketchy. Now, we have an opportunity to speak a little further on just what her role is going to be … and she’snot going to be playing herself. Instead, she will be playing a rather important Ambassador who is tied in some way to the story for Callen and Sam in the episode. You can see one image from the hour above, and here is the official synopsis:

“After U.S. Ambassador Nancy Kelly narrowly escapes a terrorist attack at the U.S. Consulate in Tunisia, Callen and Sam are sent on a secret, dangerous mission to obtain key evidence from the crime scene. Upon their return, the team seeks Kelly’s help to provide missing information.”

Chen did make some appearances on “The Millers” as herself prior to its cancellations, but before this gig, the last time she actually played a character other than herself was a decade ago, when she did a voice for the great animated kids’ show “The Fairly OddParents.” Suffice it to say, this is a departure.
