‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star Teresa Giudice will have slightly shorter prison sentence
We hinted quite a while ago that Teresa Giudice is probably not going to serve as much time in prison as her original 15-month sentence suggested, and for one simple reason: It doesn’t seem like anyone these days actually serves as much time in jail as they are originally ordered to. It doesn’t really have to do with celebrity so much as it does overcrowding.
With that being said, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star is actually doing more time behind bars than we originally expected that she would. According to some information uncovered by People Magazine, Giudice’s current release date from her Connecticut prison is February 5, 2016. This means that she will have effectively spent around 13 months rather than 15 behind bars, which is still a pretty sizable chunk of time, and more than we typically see for most celebrities these days.
One of the reasons why Teresa may be in prison for so long is due to everything from the nature of her crimes to the justice system in New Jersey, which may be a little more hardline on celebrities than one in California or New York. It is always hard to draw a distinction since so many different cases depend on the judge.
One thing we are fairly confident on is that while she is behind bars now, we’ll probably be hearing from Teresa plenty when she is released. Bravo has already made it clear that they are not giving up on her, and it is also clear that she and her family could probably use some of the money that can come from televised appearances.
