‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: ‘Scandal,’ ‘Private Practice’ alum Paul Adelstein in

Law & Order: SVU logoEven before tonight’s episode of “Law & Order: SVU” airs on NBC, we come bearing some tremendous new about a guest star for an installment still to come.

In a post on Twitter (see HERE), Paul Adelstein of “Scandal” and “Private Practice” fame (he is currently on “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce” over on Bravo) is set to appear in an episode seeming entitled “Decaying Morality.” For some additional details, TVLine confirms that he will be playing the uncle of a rape victim. Given Adelstein’s stature in the world of TV, and the way in which this series manages to recruit fantastic guest stars, we’d say that this is probably a very strong role for him to play.

“SVU” itself is kicking off its new year Wednesday night with “Forgiving Rollins,” an episode that is expected to be a very powerful one all about some of Amanda’s past, and how she is able to battle some of her own demons in order to do the right thing to help another officer who finds herself in a terrible position. For those who find themselves wanting some additional answers about this character, including how she decided to leave Atlanta, you will get some of them over the course of this hour.

There is still more than half of the season ahead, so we would not be surprised if there are a variety of other different guest casting announcements at some point in the near future. Stay tuned for a little more of that and much more.
