‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Melinda May, many other mysteries to be addressed

Given that there has been so much time spent as of late by the ABC / Marvel machine promoting the upcoming “Agent Carter” limited series, should you really be that surprised at all that the flagship show in “Agents of SHIELD” was left out in the dust? Here’s a hint: You really shouldn’t be. ABC has priorities! Plus, they know that Clark Gregg and company have until March 3 to return, and that means there is plenty of time to talk about what is coming up.

Luckily, we do at least have some small details that we can share today regarding some important storylines for the show. According to a report from TVLine, there are several mysteries that the series is going to be looking to tackle almost right away, with one of the biggest ones being the status and mystery surrounding the Melinda May character. Want to know more of her background? Then you are going to be pleased.

Also, be prepared to see some further aftermath of the whole Skye reveal, which is going to be pretty tricky for her at times. After all, she is not entirely sure just what is happening to her at the moment, per executive producer Jed Whedon.

While we don’t expect to see the show answer these questions right away, they do serve as a nice jumping-off point for the entirety of the second half of season 2, which should explore of what it means to be some of these characters, and if SHIELD can ever be what it once was in a post-Hydra world.
