‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: First details on Marisol Nichols’ return as Zoe Keates
While you may have heard already about Marisol Nichols signing on for at least one more “NCIS” episode as potential Tony DiNozzo love interest Zoe Keates, there have been questions as to when she would be showing up again. Now, we have a somewhat better idea what the answer to that is: Tuesday, January 13.
An official press release from CBS confirms that Nichols will be back in action for “The Enemy Within,” which is the second episode of 2015. There is going to be a terrorism plot at the center of one part of the episode, while the other part features two of the characters trying to get to the bottom of what is happening with Michael Weatherly’s character. Want to know more? Then check out the attached synopsis below:
“The NCIS team searches for a home-grown terrorist after a rescue mission in Syria reveals an American was involved in the capture of a social worker. Meanwhile, McGee and Bishop question DiNozzo’s unusual behavior.”
What we suppose is somewhat interesting about this Keates character is that while we’ve seen her spend some time with Tony and have some flirtatious traits, there has not been confirmation that the two are necessarily in a full-fledged relationship yet. Therefore, there is a little bit of creativity and flexibility for this story to go a variety of different ways, depending of course on what the writers want to see for these two.
Before that, tomorrow night’s episode “Check” features the first appearance of Jeri Ryan as the mysterious ex of Agent Gibbs, and she will be bringing with her some pressing business. If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out a new sneak peek for this episode right away.

I just hope that Tony and Zoe get more to do than just be in bed together. Yes, it appears that Zoe is a Ziva clone but Tony did meet Zoe first in Philly and much earlier so that begs the question did Ziva remind him of Zoe? It will be interesting to see if they reveal anything in future episodes. I found it interesting in the last episode that Marissa was in, as Keates she mentions Tony just up and left and she didn’t know where he went and then Ziva did the same to him much later. A case of what goes around, comes around?

If they want someone for Tony, bring back Wendy..at least she had a personality. Zoe is as flat as a pancake

My family, friends and I used to gather have dinner and watch NCIS on Tuesday nights however we do not anymore. We have gone from having a good time watching it live to DVR it and now we do not watch the dvr unless we hear something positive happened. One bad apple can spoil the bushel and we are tired of the Gibbs ex wives and the Ziva wannabees.

I am just plain tired of Gibbs callous attitude toward women uses them and leaves or makes life so miserable they leave…they leave knowing they can’t compete with a ghost. As for the Ziva knockoffs or clones yes that is what they are and can not hold a candle to the real deal Ziva. Not watching live tonight or maybe we’ll skip this one all together and next week too.

Zoe Keats is a recycled character..right down to her looks, clothes and her name…come on really Zoe?! Not watching tonight’s episode live or maybe not at all.

Oh please Tony left Philadelphia and got engaged to Wendy so Zoe is not a lost love. Give us a break and bring back Ziva. Still missing Cote’s believeable acting.

I agree that Zoe is a Ziva copy! The “creative” Mr. Glasberg even presented her in the same clothes Ziva was wearing back then with the same interests but she had ZERO chemistry with Tony!
And a ship called TEATS! NCIS will hit rock bottom with this one!
After 8 years with TIVA it’s either a happy ending for them or no romance at all but Glasberg for sure knows how to get rid of more fans!
My family is already disgusted by a “ship” called TEATS!

As expected the show runner continues
to ruin the show with useless romances and cheap characters!
It is so sad to see that NCIS had a golden ensemble ruined now by adding one cheap character after the other!
At least Nichols is a good actress playing a cheap recycled Ziva character, the show can’t handle another talentless actress like Wickersham but the soap story lines show that Glasberg should be in charge of some cheap production not NCIS!

I don’t think Zoe Keates is a “Ziva clone”. Just because she’s a brunette in law enforcement doesn’t make her a clone. Ziva was a powder puff girl clone so at least Zoe Keates isn’t a caricature of wonder girl. I too tire of all the sad sack soapish storylines but as long as a Tony/Zoe romance remained mostly off screen I would be happy if tptb would actually finally let Tony have something that isn’t a humiliating story and that allows this 40 something man to show some growth through an adult relationship. I just wish they’d get back to writing good crime stories and reveal small things about the team members within the context of a well written case. The case was laughably weak in House Rules and merely an excuse for a poor poor McGee drama and IMO, the result was that one fell flat. I just hope that they don’t use Zoe Keats as an excuse to write Tony as an idiot and that tptb will suck it up and let someone besides Gibbs and McGee (preferably Tony) have a real story that isn’t a piece of fluff.

Keates is likable enough. However, she is a very obvious Ziva clone. It’s laughable. I like the actress and glad she has work, but please spare us this character. Brunette, latina looking, cheekbones, “excessive force”, former partner, weapons expert, inherited Ziva’s wardrobe. Good grief.

While I’m happy to see the return of Agent Keats, the spoiler that McGee and Bishop will be trying to figure out Tony’s “unusual behavior” has me a bit worried. I hope the evening’s joke isn’t of the over used idiot Tony variety. I’ve grown so weary of his character’s constant assassination in order to provide the evening’s “humor”. It’s someone elses turn already.

Tony will never be anything but an idiot. And now they are giving him sad Ziva knockoffs to bang.

“Tony will never be anything but an idiot.”
And yet you still want him and Ziva to get together? Wow.
