ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4 spoilers: Elena Satine promoted to series regular

This is news that many probably saw coming, but also news that we are personally very much behind: “Revenge” is now adding Louise to its regular roster of players.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elena Satine has been officially brought on as a series regular in her role of the somewhat-demented Hamptons newcomer, who has associated with both Daniel and Nolan at various times this season. She has been a nice surprise to us this season, mostly because some of her own plots and plans never have the same element of darkness about them as with the other characters. There’s always been a certain amount of lightness to her, and that is important given the current subject matter.

This may be a somewhat-controversial opinion, but we actually feel for the most part as though her character has been stronger than David Clarke, who was the big reveal last season. His has been far too muddled and confusing. We could say the same thing in ways about Margaux, though it appears now that she is starting to get it together, given her rage over Daniel’s death and her desire to incriminate Emily as the guilty part. In reality, it was Kate who pulled the trigger, and there is a fear to admit that due to Malcolm Black’s impending arrival into the world of the show. He made a brief cameo at the end of the episode last night.

Now with Satine, one of the larger questions is mostly just how long she is really going to be around. After all, the ratings hit a series low on ABC last night, which does not give us a whole lot of hope for the future beyond this season. Satine’s most notable regular credit before this was the Starz series “Magic City.”
