We love the Suicide Squad on “Arrow.” We’ve made no secret of that. Therefore, we are very pleased now to confirm that the group is coming back in some capacity before the end of the season!
Speaking to TVLine, show executive producer Andrew Kreisberg passed along the glorious news, which is very important to us since there was a time when we were not quite sure that the group would be around any more. Mostly, we were worried a little about how the upcoming movie would take ownership of these characters, and then the show wouldn’t get a chance to do nearly as much with them. That doesn’t seem to be the case.
With that being said, we do wonder who the individual members now are going to be. Presumably, Deadshot and Bronze Tiger are still a part of it, and given the end of “Draw Back Your Bow,” we assume that Cupid may also be included now. As a president of sorts of the Cupid Fan Club, we rejoice this idea. (Shrapnel is pictured in the above photo, but he is presumably dead.)
Finally, there is one other very simple reason why you should be thrilled with the idea of getting to see more Suicide Squad, at least in that it is yet another opportunity for Diggle to have some of the spotlight. Anytime that David Ramsey gets some attention on the series, we are going to be more than happy and then some.
Sadly, you’ll be waiting until Wednesday, January 21 to even see “Arrow” in action again, and the arrival of the Suicide Squad is not going to be until a little ways beyond that.
