‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 6, episode 12 review: Will a deadly virus kill Callen?
Now that Kensi and Deeks have finally made their relationship official on “NCIS: Los Angeles” we think that this is when the real fun is going to come in for these two. Finally the “will they, won’t they” nonsense is over and we can see how these two function in a relationship and how others at the office are going to react to it (it will probably be a surprise to no one, but it will be interesting to see their reactions.)
This week Callen finds himself in a bit of a bad situation while he was doing a routine opt on an arms dealer and then the situation quickly changes when a terrorist group comes in and starts killing hostages until the USA starts releasing the names on their list. When NCIS realizes that the building is set to blow if they don’t do what they say. This is a story we have seen many times on crime shows, but this time we had a bit of a twist, which was that the bad guys really wanted a virus that was being held on another floor in the building.
The Twist that we didn’t see coming was that Callen was going to be infected with the virus and locked himself in a room to stop the virus from spreading to everyone else int he building, but is he going to die? Turns out there’s a cure (of course) and Callen is okay… but is anyone really surprised?
We hoped that now that Kensi and Deeks are in a relationship that we were going to see a bit of a shift in their interaction with each other, but they are still completely goofy with each other and it seems that not much has changed except that they are committed to each other (and they openly talk about sex now.)
There was no mention of Eric and Nell’s trip back to see her family for the holidays, but we did love Nell making Eric blush by talking about buying expensive panties. These two are so cute. Episode Grade: C+

I would give this episode a B+. I really enjoyed it and thought it was one of the best episodes this season. It kept my interest which is something the original NCIS has not done for some time. Felt just like old times as I ran to the kitchen to get a snack in between commercials as I didn’t want to miss a thing. I am pleased to see that even though NCIS LA was moved to Mondays their ratings are continuing to improve. Btw I think Kensi and Deeks are fine. People in a relationship are not always lovey dovey while going about their daily routine which seems to be what you want to see but are continuing to live their lives and do their jobs as they have previously. Being on the same team is also a concern as they don’t want to be seen behaving inappropriately in the field The only difference is probably that they go home together now and have an intimate relationship behind closed doors. I really don’t want to see that. I think imagination is a great thing and some things should be left to our imagination without being hit over the head with it. Great episode!
