‘Madam Secretary’ episode 13 preview: What’s next for Tea Leoni, cast in ‘Chains of Command’

Were you happy to see “Madam Secretary” back on the air? Tonight’s new episode on CBS brought a heck of a lot to the table, from an attempted anniversary to Elizabeth being forced to take on some key diplomatic matters.

Most of this builds to the next new episode of the show entitled “Chains of Command,” which will feature Henry’s father, and also “The Daily Show” alum Aasif Mandvi in a role. In the event that you have not read the full synopsis for this episode just yet, you can do so by checking it out below:

“Elizabeth pushes for the prosecution of a Bahraini diplomat after he is caught holding a maid hostage in his home. Also, Henry’s father comes to visit, on MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, Jan. 11 (8:01-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  Emmy Award winner Tom Skerritt guest stars as Henry’s father, Patrick McCord. Aasif Mandvi guest stars as Prince Yousif.”

After tonight’s episode, you should be pretty certain that this is still the same very good show that you saw in the fall. At times, it may move a little slowly, but what we are seeing is a woman in Elizabeth who is starting to get used to her job. One thing that we’ll be curious about as the show starts to get further and further along is that traditionally with this Secretary of State position, many flame out pretty quickly. How will Elizabeth handle being here for multiple years, at least if the show gets additional seasons?
