What will the characters of “Scorpion” do to protect one of their own? This is at the center of Monday night’s new episode “Kill Screen.”
When we first previewed this episode yesterday, it felt based on some of the details almost like there could be a big element of humor in it. After all, the title is a referenced to a famed screen at the end of many old video games. After something seems to accidentally go awry for the Ralph character, he is brought by authorities for questioning. Feeling as though there is no way that her son could have done anything so damaging, Paige has to rely on Team Scorpion in order to do everything that she can to bring him back.
This looks like it will be a nice showcase episode for Katharine McPhee, and hopefully a thrilling way to start the second half of the season, as well. Like most other new shows, “Scorpion” has to be feeling a reasonably amount of pressure right now. After all, you want to ensure that keep most of the viewers from the first half of the season, and to also make absolutely certain at the same time that nobody is forgetting about you.
For the show, it will be making it clear that it was worth the wait for more episodes, and also giving the characters new and interesting things to do. We’ve come to know them superficially at this point, and now is the time to make things go a little deeper.
