‘Parks and Recreation’ season 7 spoilers: First look at premiere ‘2017’
NBC has for some reason been pretty coy for the most part in dishing out “Parks and Recreation” teasers … or at least they were until today. We finally have some of the first real details from the season premiere episode entitled “2017,” and they give us a reasonably good idea about what lies ahead for Leslie Knope and company.
As per usual, this episode sounds funny, but also on a different scale. Leslie and Ben are clearly more successful, and after spending so many years doing fun, silly things, April and Andy are going to start to feel a little bit in a rut. The official synopsis below offers up some more insight:
“Leslie launches a competition with tech company Gryzzl for a large parcel of land, which she wants to turn into a National Park. April and Andy try to regain their spontaneity. Ben is recognized at a Bicentennial gala, where Tom delivers a speech in his honor.”
One of the best little things about this episode will be seeing the show’s interpretation of the future, which is something that we would have laughed at you for if you told us that they were planning something like this years ago. The entire idea of it in the story is pretty ridiculous, and yet at the same time, that is also one of the reasons why we are so excited for it. This show is capable of wonderful, silly things, and this has to be somewhere high on this list.
