‘How to Get Away with Murder’ spoilers: Distrust is name of the game

How to Get Away with Murder -You have been waiting a long time for new episodes of “How to Get Away with Murder” to come to ABC, but come January 29, we get the sense that the story will accelerate yet again. Gone are the flash-forwards, but there will be intrigue that comes in a variety of other subjects. For example, will Rebecca be convicted of killing Lila Stangard, and will the truth ever come out about Wes’ actual murder of Sam?

Eventually, we are going to learn the true identity of Lila’s killer (which may not be Sam), along with a variety of other things. First and foremost, though, you are going to see a variety of people struggle to keep themselves together while facing the reality that someone is using them for the sake of self-preservation. This is something that executive producer Peter Nowalk himself teased up in a TV Guide interview, saying that almost everyone is going to be on edge in one way or another:

“The big thing that bleeds through all the characters is their paranoia in the next few episodes, and who knows what. ‘Am I being played?’ The distrust is running high. At the same time, they have to rely on each other more than ever.”

The saddest thing that we have to remember about this season at the moment is simply that it’s not going to be around nearly as long as we would hope this season. There are only six more episodes to come, and two of them are going to be bundled together into a single night. That means that by the end of February, the door is going to be closed on the show for the time being.
