‘The Fosters’ season 2 spoilers: Maia Mitchell teases story ahead for Callie, Brandon

New episodes of “The Fosters” are set to begin airing on ABC Family again come Monday, January 16, but why wait that long to learn a thing or two about what’s in store for your favorite characters?

There are many loose ends that the show will be picking up on almost immediately after its return, but one of the most prominent ones ties back to the Callie character. What comes next for her and Brandon after that kiss? Maia Mitchell spoke to TV Guide recently on the subject, and said that while this kiss may have meant something, this may not exactly translate to there being a relationship.

“Everything was leading up to this adoption for her and she’s discovered it’s not going to happen so her whole world is crashing down around her [and] Brandon is this beacon of hope in a desperate place for her … Brandon [begins] questioning that and takes a step back and it freaks her out so it’s something they’ll have to resolve in the new season.”

Do we think that Callie will find happiness? At some point, but nothing in her life so far has been exactly easy. Therefore, it feels like a mistake to assume that anything through the rest of season 2 would be.

As for one little bit of bonus scoop, know that you’re going to be seeing a whole lot more of the Quinns moving forward, as well. They are not going to give up after their own rejection in the summer finale.
