‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: The Fulcrum brings a ‘ticking clock’
What exactly is The Fulcrum? Other than it being a criminal organization on “Chuck,” it also happens to be an evil somehow at the center of the upcoming episodes of “The Blacklist” airing on NBC. There is no timetable yet to figure out just what this is, or what it does, but we at least still know one thing: It is probably not going to be a good thing for it to remain a secret from Raymond Reddington.
For those who have not heard, the goal for the Super Bowl episode seems to be just establishing an isolated story that will last for two parts, and bring in new potential viewers to the show. After that is over, this is when you will see Liz Keen and company dive back into familiar territory. Specifically, we are talking here about the whole “who is Tom really working for?” mystery, whether or not Liz can find a connection between her and Red, and other good stuff.
As a result of all of this, The Fulcrum should eventually be a huge part of what happens to James Spader’s character by the end of the season. Speaking to TV Guide on the subject of this device, show creator Jon Bokenkamp had the following to say:
“You will hear about The Fulcrum in the Super Bowl episode … Red is assembling those clues and trying to figure what out Fitch was trying to warn him about. There’s a ticking clock that underscores the back half of the season.”
What happens to Red if he doesn’t meet the clock? It is probably the same thing that happens when anyone else on this show fails, and it’s not good.
