‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5 spoilers: Boss on big story ahead for Chin Ho, Danny

Hawaii Five-0 -Earlier this year, “Hawaii Five-0” gave us what was effectively one of the sadder stories of its entire run. We saw multiple episodes all about Danny and his attempt to rescue his brother from capture, only to eventually learn that he was actually dead.

Unfortunately for this character, we are not at the end of this particular story just yet. Specifically, some of the ramifications of Chin Ho’s financial decision earlier this year will play out within the second half of season 5, and that could mean trouble for both of these big characters. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, this is something that show boss Peter M. Lenkov described as being one of the biggest plots that the writers have in store for us:

“The big deal is Chin Ho borrowed money from his ex-brother-in-law to help Danny pay this ransom. They went down to South America to pay that ransom. It turns out Danny’s brother was actually dead. All that’s going to come back and there’s going to be a price to be paid for everything that happened in South America and everything that happened with Chin and his ex-brother-in-law. There’s an arc building to that where we’re trying to really milk that story, and make that a big deal, and there’s repercussions there.”

Friday marks the return of the show to CBS, so feel good in that you’re not going to be waiting a whole lot longer to see how this story shapes up, and what sort of cases the team has to tackle. Expect some notable guest stars, as well, whether it be Cloris Leachman, “Lost” alum Rebecca Mader’s return to the island, or a certain “Captain Phillips” star who will be playing the show’s version of Kony.

Suffice it to say, there’s a tidal wave of stuff to look forward to if you are a fan, and CBS is kind enough to ensure that you will not be waiting long to get it.
