‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ 2015: One Direction, Lady Antebellum, MAGIC! perform
There are many performances that are a part of New Year’s Eve on TV, but the majority of the big ones are over on ABC. This is what happens when you have a guy like Ryan Seacrest, and the legacy of Dick Clark rolled into one show.
Some of the early performers on “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” were One Direction, Lady Antebellum, MAGIC!, and many more who either took to Time Square, or in the case of the boy band, where they pre-recorded their performances of “What Makes You Beautiful” and also “Steal My Girl,” one of their newest singles.
Now, here is the real question we know many wonder: Is this really worthwhile New Year’s Eve entertainment? While it does succeed in bringing some good things to the table, it also struggles in other regards. For example, if you don’t dig music, there is probably not a whole lot for you to like here. If you want comedy, CNN is probably the place to go … which is probably not something you can say most of the rest of the year, unless you are of course one of the most cynical people out there.
“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” no doubt will draw big ratings once again this year, and we don’t see it going anywhere in the near future. Seacrest is an institution of it at this point, even if he does generally have a whole lot going on in between “American Idol” and his production company.
