‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ review: Brandi Glanville, Lisa Vanderpump, and an attempt at amends

Tonight on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” things get dirty … for at least a few minutes.

We certainly did not expect that a good percentage of the key part of this episode would be focused on Brandi Glanville and a certain part of Lisa Vanderpump’s anatomy, but that what happened! Maybe Lisa was blowing it out of proportion, since Brandi was obviously just telling a ridiculous (albeit filthy) joke in an attempt to lighten the mood. Specifically, she wants to make things right between her and Lisa, but chooses some rather awkward ways to make it happen. We’re talking about breaking off a tree branch, and then offering it to her. Silly, no?

This episode was still for the most part fun, and also full of that pretentiousness you expect. Take, for example, watching Lisa Rinna talk incessantly about being famous, our Eileen Davidson having to be filled in about the Brandi / Lisa fight for some reason. (Couldn’t she have just watched the show last year?) Lisa’s “Access Hollywood Live” bit was for the most part entertaining, and while we feel like Kim and Kyle Richards had very little to do this week, that just happens sometimes. They don’t always have to be at the center of attention.

In the end, this was still a pretty fun episode; while not that much happened upon reflection, it continued the trend of this being a mostly-lighthearted season. Plus, adding the known commodities in Lisa and Eileen continues to give us a high level of interest. Grade: B-.
