‘The Americans’ season 3 spoilers: First official details on premiere
When FX premieres the third season of “The Americans” on Wednesday, January 28, you should be very aware that the writers and producers are planning to hit the ground running.
Now that Philip and Elizabeth are more on the precipice of being found out then ever before, they will have to take action, and quickly, to ensure their safety. This means that in turn they may be more susceptible to making mistakes.
As great as Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell are on the series, they are not the only key components in this story. Stan also will have a significant storyline in “EST Man,” as evidenced by the official synopsis below:
“Tensions simmer between Philip and Elizabeth as they disagree over handling orders from the Centre. When Elizabeth loses key intel, Philip enlists Annelise on a mission with an unexpected outcome. Stan tries a new approach to mending his marriage with Sandra amidst learning tough news about Nina.”
The challenge for “The Americans” is something that we feel is more significant than most other shows, at least in that viewers already know of its superior quality. Due to this, the real difficult lies mostly in figuring out how to maintain that, and allowing the show to remain good enough that you are willing to spread the word about it. It eventually needs more viewers to have a sustained run, and we feel like much of the reason it has lasted this long is based off of the acting and writing, and less on its actual success.
We are going to do our best to continue to provide further scoop on “The Americans,” so stay tuned for that.
