‘Major Crimes’ season 3, episode 16 review: Louie talks Patrice romance

Louie major crimesAfter watching Louie on “Major Crimes” dance around the fact that he has started up a relationship with Patrice (the grandmother of a victim/killer from a few episodes ago) we are all on board for seeing more in the romance department. We’ve see some new relationships (Louie and Patrice) some feelings not returned (Rusty and Jeff) and the relationship that has most fans at the edge of their seat which is Sharon and Andy. They seem to be dating, but don’t want to come right out and admit it to anyone – including themselves…. what’s the problem?

The story of the week involved a young autistic woman named Annie that ended up dead and the first suspect is a registered sex offender, Bill, that lives in the neighborhood, and things started looking even worse for him when he found her dead in his home. When Annie’s parents learn that Valentine’s with messages of love were found in the offender’s apartment, they are more convinced then ever that he is the murderer.

Turns out the Valentine’s are actually from Bill’s girlfriend’s daughter Kayla – but nothing is actually going on with Kayla, just that Bill wanted to marry her mom Tori. Bill can’t handle that his past has been exposed and he tries to stab himself (but unsuccessfully kills himself).

Later it is revealed that Annie actually died in her own room and Bill admits that he has a spare key above the door of his house. Any of the neighbors had an opportunity to see a repair man take the key… including Annie’s step father who is actually the killer and framed Bill.

Louie admits that Patrice is the first relationship he’s had in a long time where the woman is his age and not under 40, and that it’s making him nervous since it’s the first time he’s been really happy.  We love this relationship. Episode grade: C+
