‘Outlander’ video: Starz’s latest video all about the accents

Even if Saturday, April 4 may be a long time to wait for more new episodes of “Outlander,” Starz is seemingly doing their best right now to keep the wait as satisfying as possible.

With this in mind, why not take a look at the video below? In this one, Carol Ann Crawford, the dialect coach for the show, guides you through some of the various accents that are associated with Scotland during the period, and some of the work that the show does put in to perfecting them. Even if there is a fantasy component of the show with the Claire character, there is still a heck of a lot of effort put in to ensuring that almost everything else feels historically accurate.

We know from many other shows that actors spend hours upon hours perfecting their dialects, and for good reason. We are a cynical viewing public at this point, and if there was ever a point where someone messed up, we know that there would be an army of people ready and willing to correct them.

This is only one of the many cool things that Starz has done as of late to keep viewers excited about this show. We didn’t post it here before Christmas, but they also posted their version of the classic “Yule Log” video, a great way to have a little bit of the warm fireplace experience without the actual fireplace.
