‘The Mentalist’ season 7, episode 5 video: Could Jane, Lisbon really leave the FBI?

Sunday night’s new episode of “The Mentalist” will have quite a bit going on, but ultimately, we still feel like one of the biggest threads is going to be learning whether or not we could actually see Patrick Jane leave the FBI, and then convince Lisbon to do the same.

At the end of the last episode of the show, we saw the two parties at least briefly discuss the subject. At the time, Lisbon was not all that interested in listening, and in the new sneak peek over at TVLine, she seems to be just as hesitant to make any sort of move away from her employer.

Why would Robin Tunney’s character be so hesitant to move away from this job, and try something a little bit different for a change? It could ultimately come down to just one thing, and that is ultimately that she legitimately loves what she does. If you have a good job, why give it up, especially when you are doing a whole lot of good for everyone else in the world?

As for Jane, Lisbon tells him that while he things that he may want to leave the FBI, that is not necessarily what he actually would be happy with in the end. If he was off in Paris or somewhere else in the world, wouldn’t he miss putting his skills to use? There is a part of us that thinks that the answer to this is “definitely.”
