‘The Mentalist’ season 7, episode 5 video: Cho, Vega try to enact Jane’s plan

Sunday night marks the next new episode of “The Mentalist,” and throughout “The Silver Briefcase,” we are going to see how director Simon Baker tells the story, while actor Simon Baker tries to play it on the screen.

In the video, what we really have is the latest video focusing on Cho and Vega, as they try to do what they can to figure out if a plan orchestrated by Patrick Jane turns out to be a success. This has been a transitional period for Cho, given that he is trying to work with someone who, while ambitious, is still new to the bureau. This means that sometimes, her book-smarts do not often translate to being effective while out on the case.

Eventually, these two are going to figure things out. For the time being, we still find it rather entertaining to see Cho doing his best curmudgeon impression. He is really rather good at it!

Eventually, we do assume that Jane is going to make his presence felt at some point during this episode. We do wonder, though, whether or not him being a director will cause him to have a slightly smaller role in front of the camera. Sometimes, it can be very difficult to wear both hats at the same time.
