‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: How does Slade Wilson reenter the picture?

To say that we were surprised when we heard that Slade Wilson was returning to this season of “Arrow” is an understatement, to say the least. We were shocked! This is a guy who was locked in a prison on the famed island the last we saw him, and it did not look like there was any way for him to be set free from there.

Well, we cannot exactly confirm that Manu Bennett’s character is going to be released or not when we see him in the fourteenth episode of this season, but we can say this: It looks as though you are at least going to get some insight into what his life is like now. Teasing to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Marc Guggenheim said the following about what you can expect:

“Everyone’s been asking: How does he feed himself? … You’re going to get an answer to that question. He loomed so large in season 2 that his return in episode 14 really makes it feel incredibly epic. You’ll see why it’s very appropriate for us to revisit Slade Wilson in episode 14 when you see the end of episode 13.”

For the time being, we anticipate this being just a one-episode return for Bennett, but we hope that the door is still left open for something more down the line. Given how iconic a villain Deathstroke has become, so much so that there are individual comics about him out there, we feel like there could be many stories out there still to tell about this character.
