NBC’s ‘Constantine’ shifting to new timeslot in 2015

Constantine -NBC seems to be doing everything it can in order to turn “Constantine” into a successful show on Friday nights. After all, they just decided to give the series a chance a little bit earlier in the night.

In a new post now on Twitter, the show’s official page confirmed that for its return on Friday, January 16, Matt Ryan and company are going to air at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time rather than 10:00. Is this a net positive? We’re of two minds. We could see some saying that maybe some people who work late or go out to dinner could be home for the later airing; however, there may be some night owls who are home for 8:00, and then gone later in the night. We’re not entirely sure that this will move the needle much, with the big reason being that with the move, it is losing the lead-in that it had with “Grimm.”

With this being said, we do still very much want to see “Constantine” succeed as a show at all costs, given that we love all DC properties on TV, and Matt Ryan is excellent in the role. We also feel like the past few weeks have been excellent improvements since the pilot, especially in terms of letting us see more and more of the man’s humanity and many layers.

We are going to have more news very soon related to “Constantine,” but for right now, the biggest thing we would say to expect is even more of a continuous story during the second half of the season than what we saw in the first.
