‘American Crime Story’ spoilers: David Schwimmer to play Robert Kardashian

What's next -While the first half of “American Horror Story” this season is over, we do come today bearing some of the latest scoop regarding Ryan Murphy’s sister project at FX in “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.”

Former “Friends” star David Schwimmer, who has also went on to direct and act in movie, TV, and stage projects, has been officially cast now to play Robert Kardashian, the defense attorney for Simpson (played here by Cuba Gooding Jr.) in the project. Obviously, the Kardashian name has become known for something very different now than what it was many years ago, but this show could help shed some light for younger generations on how everything first got its start for this family in the spotlight.

It was already revealed that Sarah Paulson would be coming over from “American Horror Story” to play famed prosecutor Marcia Clark, which means now that three of the primary characters for this show are officially cast.

With the news of Schwimmer’s hire, we can at least say with confidence that the show has succeeded in casting three very notable names for the show. With that being said, this miniseries still needs to be compelling television, and more than just headline-grabbing. We do feel like one of the reasons it may work out very well is because we’re looking here at only ten episodes versus thirteen. That means the story can be condensed, and that is very much a good thing for this show. Too often things tend to get a little too unwieldy with one plot becoming much too overwhelming for its own good.
